The next civil engineering project in extending towards the shed was a further tunnel. At this point the track is nearly on top of the hedgerow, so it’s a shallow tunnel and the ‘cut & cover’ method previously employed (twice) becomes even more appropriate…

I did the work on the tunnel whilst the concrete set around the base of posts I had set in for the 2nd bridge (blog post to follow shortly).

This is another long overdue post… The work was carried out June/July 2016, the header photo was taken the following November.
I need an aerial plan. 😉
It wasn’t until I looked back at the original plan I even remembered it wasn’t on there; originally I was going to run the line through a deep cutting there.
I will do an updated plan, but for now I’ve circled where the 3rd tunnel is.
